They will leave Thursday, October 26th and return in the evening of Saturday, October 28th, so Pastor can conduct services next Sunday here at North Prairie. If you should have an emergency during this time that would require Pastor Martin to return early, please call his cell phone at 641-494-4885, and if there is no answer, please leave a voice message and he will try to return your call as soon as possible. Congratulations to Pastor & Lindsay and may God grant you many more years of His blessings in your marriage as you continue to serve our congregation and our Evangelial Lutheran Conference & Ministerium (ELCM).

Weather Related Postponement Reminder In the event that services or other activities for North Prairie have to be cacelled due to weather or other reasons, please listen to KIOW 107.3 FM for an announcement, check the congregation's website at www.elcmiowa.org/northprairie, or call Pastor. Pastor will try to post weather related announcements on the webpage and on KIOW as soon as a decision to cancel has been made.

Midweek Worship Begins This Week Beginning this Wednesday, October 25th, North Prairie Lutheran will offer a 2nd worship opportunity each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. here at North Prairie Lutheran Church. The Wednesday service will feature a different sermon than what was preached on Sunday morning or broadcast over KIOW, and will utilize a variety of different liturgies the Lutheran church has used for evening services such as Evening Prayer, Vespers, Responsive Prayer, and various orders of Holy Communion. Communion will be offered at least twice per month at this service and on all major festivals of the church year that fall on a Wednesday evening. Invite your friends, neighbors, and co workers to join us for worship each Wednesday evening. The service will be preceded by our ongoing Wednesday evening Bible study that beings at 6 p.m.

Reformation Day Service Next Tuesday, October 31st, we will celebrate the Festival of the Reformation with a special Reformation era worship service with Holy Communion. This service will begin at 7 p.m. and the sermon is based on Romans 1:16-17 with the theme being "A Righteousness from God". During the liturgy that evening, we will learn about the various reforms Martin Luther made to the worship life of the church during the Reformation. Invite your Lutheran friends and relatives to attend this special and unique Reformation service.

Heating System Update Rolf Anderson of Forest City graciously donated a used Lennox furnace to our ELCM mission congregation to use at North Prairie. The furnace has been installed into the furnace room and the electrical work is now complete on the furnace. Once the LP tank has been brought in and hooked up (hopefully this week), we will have adequate heating for the kitchen, restroom, and fellowship hall of the church, and perhaps heat for the sanctuary during the somewhat warmer months. During the colder weather, services will be held in the fellowship hall in the church basement this winter. If you would like to make a contribution to the heating system installation and fuel costs, please mark your gift 'Furnace Fund" and place it in the offering plate, or mail them to: North Prairie Lutheran Mission, c/o Pastor Christopher Martin, PO Box 422, Bancroft, Iowa 50517.
