Communion Frequency Change During Lent Beginning this morning, our congregation will, on a trial basis through Easter Sunday, be offering the sacrament of Holy Communion every Sunday. We will determine after Easter whether to cotninue the every Sunday communion practice, or return to our former 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sunday communion frequency practice.
KIOW Broadcast This morning's KIOW 107.3 FM broadcast features our Vespers service from this past Wednesday evening. It was brought to you by the ELCM North American Mission Reserve Fund. If you wish to sponsor a future broadcast in memory of a loved one or to commemorate a special event, please contact Pastor. The broadcast can be heard each Sunday morning at 8 a.m. over KIOW, 107.3 FM.
Wedding Guidelines to be Drafted In light of some unforseen issues that occurred from the wedding Pastor officiated at this past month (including him receiving no financial compensation for his time and services), it has been decided some wedding guidelines need to be put into writing to prevent any future problems or misunderstandings from arising. These guidelines will cover such issues as scheduling procedures for the pastor and the church (since we rent our house of worship, any couple would need to contact Heritage Park to schedule the church), pastor's compensation, planning/counseling meetings with the couple and the pastor, the right of the pastor to refuse to officiate at a wedding, who is responsible for what, and other issues.
It is hoped to have a draft of this document ready for discussion and possible approval by Sunday, April 2nd. This document would be given to any couple, member or non member, who inquires about using our ELCM pastors for their wedding, regardless of the site of the wedding, and the couple will be asked to agree to these stipulations for our ELCM pastors serving our parish to perform weddings. Please provide your input to this important proposal.
